EU market:

Due to EOBD regulations, all new gasoline vehicles are required to be equipped with a 16 pin OBD interface starting from January 1, 2001; Diesel vehicles have been mandatory since 2004. Therefore, European gasoline cars after 2001 no longer use 22Pin separately.

North American market:

Since 1996, regulations have mandated the addition of 16 pin standard OBD2 (DLC3) in the car, forming a dual interface parallel of "22Pin in the cabin+16Pin in the car".
(Note: The 1995 V6 Camry, Avalon, and some Lexus models are already equipped with OBD2 interfaces in advance.)

Models of China, Southeast Asia and Japan:

May only have a 22Pin engine compartment and no 16Pin standard OBD2 in the car.
